POS: Exclude Gratuity



Background in Back Office

Navigation: Log into BO and select a Store, then select Products/Items > Category

The Exclude Gratuity toggle appears under Category and Subcategory in BO

Category

  1. If enabling the toggle (setting to Yes), the following alert message appears: 'If the Exclude Gratuity is enabled for the Category, then it will be enabled for all Subcategory(s) under this particular Category. Do you need to proceed?' with Yes and No options.
    1. If Yes is selected, the Exclude Gratuity toggle will be enabled for both Category and Subcategory
    2. If No is selected, the pop-up window will be closed without a change
    3. Tool Tip: 'Gratuity will not be applicable for the Category'

  2. If disabling the toggle (setting to No), the following alert message appears: 'If the Exclude Gratuity is disabled for the Category, then it will be disabled for all subcategory(s) under this particular Category. Do you need to proceed?'  with Yes and No options.
    1. If Yes is selected, the Exclude Gratuity toggle will be disabled for both Category and Subcategory
    2. If No is selected, the pop-up window will be closed without a change
    Note: The toggle will be disabled by default


    Subcategory


    1. Upon enabling the Exclude Gratuity toggle, the Gratuity will not apply to the Subcategory
      1. Tool Tip: Gratuity will not be applicable for the subcategory
    2. Upon disabling the Exclude Gratuity toggle, the Gratuity will apply to the Subcategory
    Note: The toggle will be disabled by default 

    Notes

    1. When the Exclude Gratuity toggle is enabled for Category - all the Subcategories attached to the respective Category will be enabled
    2. When the Exclude Gratuity toggle is disabled for a Category - all the Subcategories attached to the respective Category will be disabled
    3. When the Exclude Gratuity toggle is enabled for a Subcategorythen Gratuity will be disabled only for that Subcategory
    4. When the Exclude Gratuity toggle is disabled for a Subcategory, then Gratuity will be enabled only for that Subcategory

    Implementation in POS

    Upon enabling Exclude Gratuity toggle, the Gratuity will not apply to those Category and Subcategory in POS.

    Impacts to Reports

    The toggle will impact the Sales RecapCashier Out, and Employee Gratuity reports.
