POS: Payment Surcharge - Exempt Surcharge
Enabling Surcharge
Navigation: Log in to BO for your Store then select Settings > Payments > Payment Settings.
- On the Payment Settings page, enable the Payment Surcharge toggle.
- Navigate to the Settings > Payments > Payment Methods page. With the Payment Surcharge toggle enabled: when creating a new Payment Method (or updating an existing one), the Exempt Surcharge toggle will appear.
Exempt Surcharge Conditions for Different Payments
- For Gift Card, GiveX, HA payment, and Membership payment types - the Exempt Surcharge toggle will be enabled, and the field will be grayed out.
- For the remaining payment types: the toggle will be disabled by default but you can Enable if needed.
- Note: If the Exempt Surcharge toggle is disabled. System works as existing flow.
Implementation in POS
- If the Exempt Surcharge toggle is enabled, the surcharge should not be applied during redemption when the user makes a payment in POS
- If the toggle is disabled, the system will work as-is when redemption is made
Sample Calculation
- Example: The Exempt Surcharge toggle is disabled:
Surcharge is set to 10% in BO | $1 |

Credit Card | $11 + 1 = $12 |
Cash | $11 - 1 = $10 |
