POS: Serving Size



Selecting or Modifying a Serving Size in POS

If a Menu Item is configured with Serving Size options, they will be displayed as named boxes on the screen:



  1. You can select any one of the displayed Serving Sizes. Upon selecting a Size, the Menu Item will be added to the Check on the Order screen. 

  2. To Modify the Serving Size of a Menu Item: tap on the Size tab and then change the Size accordingly.

Back Office Requirement

Navigation: Log in to BO then select Settings > Hardware > Kitchen Printers
  1. On the Kitchen Printers page, select the Settings tab.

  2. The Settings tab contains the Serving Size in Front of Menu in KOT toggle, which will be Disabled (set to NO) by Default.


  3. Upon Enabling the toggle (setting to YES) then clicking Save at the upper-right, the Serving Size will appear in front of the Menu Item in the Kitchen Receipt print, KDS and Order screen.

    1. Note: The Serving Size must be created and mapped to a Category.

    2. When creating a Menu Item, the Serving Size will be mapped automatically if attached to the Category prior to creating the Menu Item - or a new Serving Size can be created in BO.


    3. Upon Disabling, the Serving Size won't appear in front of the Menu Item in Kitchen Receipt print, KDS and Order screen - but will appear after it.

Implementation in POS

When Serving Size In Front of Menu in KOT toggle is set as Yes (Enabled) in BO, the Serving Size will appear in front of the Menu Item in Kitchen Receipt print, KDS and Order screen

  1. Kitchen Display System (KDS)
  2. Kitchen Receipt print
  3. POS Order screen
  4. The Template of Review of the KDS configuration
  5. Label Print and the Template
  6. Kitchen Label Template
  7. Kitchen Label Print
  8. When reprinting Checks
  9. Front End Receipt print
  10. Email Receipt print
  11. Kitchen Printer template

Order Screen

Log in to POS, select Menu Item, and - if the Serving Size In Front of Menu in KOT toggle is enabled in BO - the Serving Size will appear in front of the Menu Item.

Disabling the Serving Size In Front of Menu in KOT Toggle

When the Serving Size In Front of Menu in KOT toggle is Disabled (set as NO) in BO:

  1. Login to POS and select a Menu Item.

  2. The Serving Size will not appear in front of the Menu Item and will appear after the Menu Item.
