Include Additional Modifier for Combo Discounts

Back Office

1. The Combo Discounts toggle must be Enabled (YES) for a new or existing Mix and Match discount.
   
   
   
2. With Combo Discounts enabled, scroll down to the Combo Discount table, and click + Add Match. The Add Combo Discount pane appears.
   
   
   
3. On the Add Combo Discount pane, ensure Include Modifier Price toggle is set to YES (On) – which it is by default. When enabled, the Discount will be calculated for Menu Items and Modifiers. If disabled, the modifier value will not be included with the discount.
   
   
   
4. When Set Price is chosen, the Include Modifier Price toggle is enabled by default. Afterwards, you can manually toggle.
   
   
5. When the Percentage is set, the existing flow is followed.
   
   

POS 

The Combo Discounts in Price - when the Include Modifier Price toggle is enabled:

1. The modifier value is being deducted for the set combo discount items in POS for the first menu item. 
   
2. The discount split up for the Menu Item value will be calculated using the following formula: = Menu Item Price + Modifier Price / Sub Total) * Discount Value
   
1. Example: the first menu item (Pizza) will be: ((15 / 35) * 15) = 6.43
   
3. For the second menu item (Coke), we do not have a modifier so the discount split up value will be calculated using the same formula: ((20 / 35) * 15)) = 8.57
   
4. The split up for the discounted value is 15.00.
   
1. Discount on the Pizza = 6.43
   
2. Discount on the Coke = 8.57
   
3. Total Discount = 15.00
   

The Combo discount on Price when Include Modifier Price toggle is Disabled:

1. The Modifier price is added with the Discount even when the toggle is Disabled (NO) in Back Office.
   

The Combo discount on Price when Include Modifier Price toggle is Disabled (before Tax):

1. Since the Include Modifier toggle is disabled, we should not include the Modifier value with the Discount for the first Menu Item.
   
2. The Discount split up for the Menu Item value will be calculated using the following formula = Menu Item Price / Sub Total – Modifier) * Discount value))

1. The Discount on the first Menu Item (Pizza) = (10 / 30) * 10 = $3.33
   
2. The Discount on the first second Menu Item (Coke) = (20 / 30) * 10 = $6.67
   
3. The Net Discount value (Total Discount) = $3.33 + $6.67 = $10.00
   

1. Using the formula we calculate the Sub Total as $15 + $20 = $35
   
2. Tax will be 25 * 7 / 100 = $1.75
   
3. The Total will be the price of the two Menu Items + Modifier Value + Tax = 20 + 5 + 1.75 = $26.75.
   

 

1. The Discount on the first menu item (Pizza) = (10 / 30) * 10 = $3.33.
2. The Discount on the second menu item (Coke) = (20 / 30) * 10 = $6.67.
3. The Net Discount value = 3.33 + 6.67 = $10. 
   
4. Since it is After Tax, the Tax will be calculated without the Discount reduction.
   
5. For the above example the Tax calculated for the Menu Item before the Discount = Menu Item Total * Tax Percentage. So, $35 * 7% = $2.45. 
   
6. The Total formula = Set Price Value + Modifier Value + Tax. So, $20 + $5 + $2.45 = $27.45.
   

Include Additional Modifier To Access Set Price & Amount

Back Office

Navigation: Log into BO and select a Store, then select Products/Items > Discounts

Combo Discount 

1. Select the Mix & Match tab.
   
   
2. Create a New Discount or Update an existing Discount.
   
   
3. Enable the Combo Discount option by setting to YES.
   
   
   
4. Scroll down to the Discount Rate section, and for Select Type select Set Price.
   
   
   
5. When adding a new Combo Discount, the Include Modifier Price toggle will be enabled default and greyed out. 
   

Coupon Only/Auto Discount/Employee Discount

Note: An Employee Discount adds a Manager/Admin password to any discount.

For a Mix & Match Discount

Enable the Coupon Only/Auto Discount/Employee Discount options.

1. If Set Price is selected, then under Apply Filed the Include Additional Modifier toggle will be provided, and will be disabled default. You can enable or disable as needed.
   
2. If Set Percentage is selected, then under Apply Filed the Include Additional Modifier toggle will be provided, and it will be enabled. You can enable or disable as needed.
   
   

Navigation: Log into BO and select a Store, then select Products/Items > Discounts

On the Discounts page, select the Item Based tab (should be selected by default).

1. On the New/Update Item Based Discount pane, for Discount Rate select Set Price.
   
   
1. The Include Additional Modifier toggle will be available and will be disabled by default. You can enable or disable as needed.
   
   
   
2. On the New/Update Item Based Discount pane, for Discount Rate selects Amount.
   
   
1. The Include Additional Modifier toggle will be available and will be enabled by default and grayed out.
   
   

 

Navigation: Log into BO and select a Store, then select Products/Items > Discounts

On the Discounts page, select the Open Item tab. On the Open Item pane, enable the Discount In Amount toggle (set to YES). The disclaimer '*For Discount in Amount, Modifier price will be included'.
